Janette Klingner, Ph.D. * Co-Principal InvestigatorJanette Kligner earned a Ph.D. in reading and learning disabilities from the University of Miami. She is a professor of education specializing in bilingual multicultural special education at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the Department of Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity. She was a bilingual special education teacher for ten years in California and Florida, before earning a Ph.D. To date she has authored or co-authored more than 80 articles, books and book chapters. Currently she is Co-Principal investigator on two research projects funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR), the Literacy Learning Cohort Project, and the National Center for Culturally Responsive Educational Systems (NCCREST). Nationally, she is an active member of various professional organizations and has served in journal editing positions for Review of Educational Research and Journal of Learning Disabilities. In 2004 she won the AERA’s Early Career Award for outstanding research. As the Co-Principal investigator for EAC Region VIII, Dr. Klingner’s primary tasks are: 1) provide overall co-leadership in management of program operations/budget, 2) assume leadership with overrepresentation issues and tasks, and 3) assist with the internal program evaluation. |
